⭐️ This proposal originates from a recent forum post in the IoTeX forum.
Historically, assets bridged from other blockchains have special naming conventions and display symbols on the IoTeX Network, to denote that they are cross-chain assets.
However, the current naming convention was not initially designed to support many blockchains: it is too long, confusing, especially once more and more blockchains will be supported by the iotube bridge.
For this reason, we need a new naming convention that is shorter and easier to understand.
In short, this proposal suggests to:
ETH from Ethereum, BNB from Binance Smart Chain, MATIC from Polygon.USDT, USDC, UNI, etc...USDC from Polygon becomes USDC_m, USDT from Binance Smart Chain becomes USDT_b.⭐️ Please read the detailed proposal here before voting: https://community.iotex.io/t/community-vote-naming-convention-and-display-symbols-for-cross-chain-assets-via-iotube/3538
