Twitter Communications Strategy Policy

Voting ended almost 4 years agoSucceeded

Summary

This proposal aims to address how we handle @JadeProtocol Twitter communications moving forward.

Motivation

In light of the upcoming updates to Jade Protocol’s website, the deployment on Avalanche and our subsequent marketing push, we anticipate many new sets of eyes on the project in the coming weeks.

As we continue to develop Jade Protocol, we wish to maximize the potential rate of return these updates can provide for our existing community.

To that effect, our Twitter account has a very contentious degree of engagement. All messaging–even objectively good news–is met by a contingency of extreme negativity. While we do encourage discourse, transparency and legitimate feedback, we also want to ensure that our ecosystem is as attractive to new investors and potential partners as possible. The better positioned we are with forward-facing comms, the better positioned $JADE is to return value to its holders.

Details

We would like you, the invested Jade community, to decide how we mitigate bad actors on our Twitter platform. We can:

  1. Keep it as-is for the sake of total transparency. Continue to block bots and other accounts that constantly harass our posts. This does however leave a significant number of negative comments on our profile. Knowing this, we run the risk of dampening the positive effects from our updates and marketing push.

  2. Disable all comments on subsequent tweets and encourage all follow-up discourse to be held on Discord. While this would solve the immediate issue, several members have brought up the concern around censorship, which we realize may also turn off potential new investors.

  3. Spearhead a “FUD Fighters” initiative. Several dedicated community members have expressed interest in proactively educating newcomers and combating misinformation posted in Twitter replies. This option would maintain an open comments section and allocate a Discord channel and role for people to identify bad actors and address them directly via Twitter. The criteria for obtaining this role would initially be gated to Tier III sJADE holders (≥ 100sJADE, as verified through collab.land), and then vetted by our moderation team, with the potential to extend the criteria to Tier II as needed.
