JBP-443 - Artizen x Juicebox matchfund

Synopsis

Partner with Artizen to initiate the Juicebox Project Accelerator Fund. Both Juicebox and Artizen will contribute Ξ6, creating a Ξ12 Match Fund to support innovative, community-driven projects from top global creators. Attracting dozens of projects to Juicebox.money from the indie artist community.

Rationale

Artizen is a community-fund for artists, scientists and technologists. Responsible for distributing over $1m of funding to over 1,000 projects featuring well known talent like Jessican Chatain and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.  

A Juicebox x Artizen match fund will see hundreds of project submissions from our niche community of artists, scientists and technologists in an effort to win some of the 12ETH match fund.

How Artizen works:

• Creators submit their ‘project’
• The community votes on projects
• Most voted projects are shortlisted
• Projects sell artifacts (NFTs) to their networks in efforts to raise funds
• Match fund is distributed proportionally among number of artifacts (NFTs) sold

What’s in it for Juicebox?

Last season, Artizen received ~350 submissions and awarded over $100,000 in funds. For Season 4, Artizen anticipates doubling these figures. The outcome will be at a minimum 50 high-quality projects launching on Juicebox + access to a community of 20,000 creators that must comply with the following eligibility requirements:

To qualify for funding, projects must:

 

• Launch on Juicebox for transparent fund management.
• Adopt a community-centric, token-based or NFT approach via Juicebox.
• Propose innovative, transformative ideas in any creative field.

 

Selected projects get financial support, technical advice, and access to Juicebox's broad network of creators.

 

Rough timeline:

• October 2023: Official launch of the Juicebox Project Accelerator Fund.
• October 2023 - December 2023: Open call for project submissions. Both Artizen and Juicebox communities review and vote on submissions during this period.
• January 2024 - March 2024: Selected projects compete for match funding and cash prizes by selling cultural Artifacts as open edition NFTs.

Specification

• Send 6 ETH from the JuiceboxDAO multisig to the Artizen Juicebox project
• Artizen will match an additional 6 ETH into the Artizen Juicebox project
• All funds will be paid from Artizen Juicebox project, into individual creator Juicebox projects
