Proposal: Approve Budget to Dispose of the Krause House Court

Requesting approval for future reimbursements of costs (estimated $2,000–$3,000 USDC) for disposing of the Krause House court.

AUTHOR: DBAG

What is being requested?

This proposal requests DAO approval to reimburse actual disposal costs, capped by community approval, for the removal and disposal of the Krause House court materials currently in storage.

A junk removal service quoted approximately $1,500, but total expenses may range between $2,000–$3,000 USDC depending on:

  • Weight-based disposal surcharges
  • Additional labor
  • Transportation or access fees
  • Unexpected add-on costs common with bulk material removal

This proposal approves DBAG to make the necessary purchase to dispose of the court and submit receipts for final reimbursement.

The disposal will take place on December 14, 2025, and all receipts will be submitted immediately afterward.

Why are funds needed?

The court materials have been stored for an extended period, creating unnecessary recurring costs. Disposing of the court now:

  • Stops monthly storage payments currently being paid personally
  • Clears out unused materials that no longer serve operational needs
  • Closes out this asset responsibly, with transparent receipt-verified spending
  • Ensures flexibility if disposal fees exceed the initial quote

This approach protects DBAG and the DAO from unexpected cost overruns.

Reimbursement Breakdown

Item Estimated Cost (USDC)
Junk removal service $1,500
Disposal surcharges (weight/volume) $200–$600
Transportation / access / labor fees $200–$600
Total Requested Budget $2,000–$3,000

Final reimbursement will be based strictly on receipts submitted after the disposal is completed.

Next Course Action Options

  1. Approve receipt-based reimbursement with a ceiling range of $2000-$3000
  2. Once completed, schedule disposal date
  3. Scrap the court!
