ELI5 (Explain it Like I’m 5) Project Value-Add

As Ball Hogs CEO, coming off a very successful first 3 weeks of fan engagement operations, this proposal is to continue operating fan engagement at Ball Hog games for the remainder of the season. (This does not include playoffs)


Requested Budget:

  • Total: $25k
    • This is to cover Week 4 - 8
    • This does not include a budget for playoffs

How will funds be used?

Examples include, but not limited to:

  • Travel (✈️ 🚗) for Uncle Jon +1 to/from market
  • Accommodations for Uncle Jon +1 (same room)
  • Fan engagement paraphernalia
  • Tailgate supplies
  • Support staff
  • Relationship building w/ BIG3 & players

Funding Breakdown (weekly):

Travel: 40%

Supplies: 20%

Engagement Assistants: 20%

Player and Big3 relationship building (team dinner and media): 20%

How will funds be managed?

  1. Delegating full spending authority to itsunclejon#7365
  2. Upfront funding to 0x1CeE9a6DEcB5148df32C938738A8903fA8dd9aC5
  3. Uncle Jon will submit receipts for each transaction
  4. Any funds not used will be returned to the DAO

Project Details

The intention of this proposal is to fund the remainder of the season for in-person Ball Hogs experiences + delegate control for day-to-day decisions to itsunclejon#7365. Delegating to itsunclejon#7365 who will be regularly in attendance to make budget, operations, and personnel decisions is paramount for rapid iteration.

How will we be operating / engaging fans more specifically?

The “thesis” of our mission overall is to create the most fun and family friendly fan section in all of basketball. I believe this is done via two methods.

  1. Win in the community
    1. By talking to fans at the games and building relationships, our goal is to give back to people locally who are serving their communities. This intentional fostering of connections gives us a pulse of how to spread our broader goal to the areas we visit throughout the season. The target is to create a sense of belonging for people who join the pig pen and driving engagement through the formation of these friendships and experiences
  2. Winning the pre-game
    1. The whole “Pig Pen” experience is about creating a “Pixar-esque” set up where kids are having a blast getting involved and parents are having a blast because their kids are having a blast and also because they are genuinely having a blast. #havingablast.
