Approve Commodore to bridge funds to Polygon on behalf of The Krause House using an EOA (normal wallet).

Voting ended about 4 years agoSucceeded

On Thursday 12/30/21, this Snapshot vote was approved to move 200000 USDC and 280000 $KRAUSE to our multisig on Polygon (0x40eDBC75C543954CDD9c5ae7398342788F46A85B).

While attempting to execute this transaction on both Polygon Bridge and Hop, we discovered that Gnosis Safe was not supported.

Gnosis Safe support said that the common practice they’ve seen used is as follows:

  1. Mainnet Safe Sends to EOA (normal wallet)
  2. EOA bridges to Polygon
  3. EOA (now on Polygon) sends to Safe on Polygon

However, this adds an attack space where the EOA could run away with the funds. In the spirit of transparency and consent, we are requesting the community signals approval to the Transaction Team’s proposed solution.

Proposed Solution — Commodore bridges funds from an EOA and sends to Krause House’s Polygon Safe.

Why this is low risk.

  • Commodore has just quit his job to work full time on Krause House, and therefore a move to act maliciously would lead to the cancelling of his contract
  • Even with a larger supply of tokens, no moves can be made on the Treasury singlehanded.
  • If the worst case, the community could fork the token, cancelling Commodore’s supply.
  • If the intent was to sell any stolen tokens before any potential fork, the liquidity is too low to do so.

Why Commodore?

As a creator of Krause House, trusted member of the community, Commodore is the ideal party to do so. For context, on completion of our Genesis Edition Ticket Sale, an issue with Mirror sent the entire token supply to Commodore’s wallet, who immediately moved the funds to the multisig where they should have been.

In the case this doesn’t pass.

If this doesn’t pass, funds will be temporarily held up while we find a working solution. This will set back plans to get contributors on L2 streams.
