Intention
Diversity and inclusion is important to Krause House, the NBA (example), sponsors (e.g. Nike), and the future of sport.
The upcoming Gitcoin DEI grant round (see last round as example) presents a great opportunity for Krause House to both demonstrate our commitment and take action. Due to the short timeline for the launch of the grant program, this proposal combines both the sponsorship donation (signalling Krause House commitment to DEI) and the development of grant submission ideas (representing Krause House leadership and action) into a single project.
Context
Sport can change lives, and brings benefits to people and communities around the world. Those benefits will be greatest when all people regardless of gender, racialization, or socio-economic background are welcome and able to participate.
Krause House is positioning itself as the leader in decentralizing sport and creating ownership opportunities for fans globally. Krause House operates as a DAO, which at its core represents an egalitarian form of governance and structure, and was founded on the vision that team ownership shouldn’t be limited to a handful of billionaires, but rather that all fans of every professional franchise can collectively have real ownership. The intent of this vision is inclusivity across all forms of diversity.
To help bring that reality forward and further establish Krause House’s leadership position and commitment that all fans should have ownership opportunity, we are requesting a budget to sponsor the upcoming Gitcoin DEI (Diversity, Equality, Inclusion) grant round, and organize the submission of one more more proposals.
Requested Budget
20,000 $USDC and 20,000 $KRAUSE
How Will Funds Be Used
It is anticipated that Jerry’s will submit proposals to the grant round that could raise in excess of $20,000 USDC for their projects.
Examples of proposal ideas that Jerry’s might submit to the Gitcoin DEI Grants Round include:
How Will the Project Be Managed
Proposal ideas will be solicited from the community via submission form announced in discord and townhall. Ideas will be shortlisted by the Purpose and Values team based on the following criteria:
The Purpose and Values team will then be available in an advisory capacity to the authors of shortlisted projects as they develop their Gitcoin proposals. If successful, support will continue to be available through monthly-checkins over the course of the project.
Proposals may request allocations from the 15,000 $KRAUSE budget, and must be approved by the Purpose and Values team before submission to Gitcoin if they reference Krause House, engage Jerrys, or have requested a $KRAUSE budget allocation. The Purpose and Values team will use 3/5 consensus on all proposal decisions.
How Will Funds Be Managed
The Purpose and Values team will submit transaction requests to treasury as required to implement the project.
Any resulting grant awards from successful projects will returned to the treasury and remain available to the proposal teams according to the terms of their successful proposal and as otherwise stipulated by the Purpose and Values team.
Team
To date the Purpose and Values team has launched the #Iggy-Awards, conducted a baseline survey on Krause House’s purpose and values, and is in process of completing the first full review as outlined in our original proposal. The team (@TimothE, @dluxe, @silekyj, @eli, @Lewwwk) will coordinate the delivery of the project as required.
