TITLE: Gas reimbursement plan for multi-sig transactions
WALLET: The wallet of the gas spender
GOAL OF PROJECT:
For each of our multi-sig transactions, one signer has to pay gas out of their personal wallet to complete the transaction. This proposal is to have a process in place to reimburse the gas of the signer.
WHY THIS MATTERS:
Each transaction that the multi-sig needs to execute needs to pay gas. The way that Gnosis Safe works is that the last signer pays the gas out of their signing wallet. There is not a simple way for the Gnosis Safe to pay for the gas. We should optimize for getting important transactions completed rather than worry about personal gas expenditures.
Having a clear & consistent process to reimburse gas fees will reduce any blockers to getting things done in Krause House.
HOW THIS WILL WORK:
Whomever pays the gas for the transaction on the Gnosis Safe will be reimbursed for the exact amount of ETH spent on the transaction. This amount will be reimbursed on a monthly basis, regardless of the price of ETH.
An example would be if wallet 0x01 signs a transaction on the behalf of our Gnosis Safe and pays 0.1 ETH in gas. 0x01 wallet would receive a reimbursement of 0.1 ETH the following month.
FUNDING DETAILS:
This proposal can't have a set budget because the amount of gas to be spent is unknown. However, it should be a small percentage of each transaction the Gnosis Safe will be executing. Additionally, this gas must be paid in some manner — this cost is not avoidable if we're doing transactions on mainnet.
TEAM:
Commodore will be responsible for tracking and reimbursing the signers that are eligible for reimbursement.
TRACKING:
A Google Sheet will be created tracking each Gnosis Safe transaction to a corresponding log for payouts of gas.
OTHER RESEARCH OR NOTES:
There have many transactions signed since the NFT sale, we would like to include the transactions since the creation of the NFT sale (11/19/21). It should be noted, there are more transactions from before that time period — but there was no treasury at the time, we've omitted these transactions from this proposal.
