Proposal
- We are requesting $960 from the treasury to fund a limited production run of 48 KH Capsule T-shirts to be sold at NFT NYC.
Context
- The Merch Team holds the perspective that merchandise is a key lever for the DAO in growing membership and building brand affinity and engagement.
- In the spirit of experimentation and conducting initial tests of this hypothesis, the team developed two collections with two different primary audiences in mind:
- KH Essentials: The primary audience is internal – current members of the DAO looking for gear to wear out and share their KH pride
- KH Capsule: The primary audience is external – folks who may not be as familiar with Krause House or web3 for that matter but have an appreciation for good design, high fashion, and recognize the NYC and basketball cultural elements referenced in the piece
- This first limited merchandise is effectively a brand-building exercise and not a revenue-generating one to build the Treasury. That said, we expect, at a minimum, to break even and more likely to turn a small profit. Krause House will keep 100% of the profit.
- This proposal is to fund a limited production run of the KH Capsule T-Shirt to have available for sale onsite at KH events during NFT.NYC (June 21-23). The t-shirt will also be made available for sale online on a pre-order basis via the same Shopify site that will host the KH Essentials items.

Titled, “The Tip-Off”, we partnered with a NYC-based streetwear designer to deliver a piece that both commemorates NYC’s rich basketball heritage as well as memorializes the NFT NYC 2022 moment.
Small details to highlight: For those familiar, you’ll notice the famous NYC Parks leaf logo at center court, a staple image at public courts throughout the city. Additionally, we would like to point out the unidentifiable faces in the stands. We wanted to lean into the anonymity culture of web3 and crypto but demonstrate how that can evolve over time. Some of the faces are black and have their identities fully obscured from the public while others are purple and though still anonymous, by demonstrating their affinity towards KH, they become identifiable at least by this one marker in the sea of blank faces. Lastly, fans closer to the action on the court more vibrantly shine their KH purple and are more luminous — illustrating they’re ready to get in the game.
