ELI5 (Explain it Like I’m 5) Project Value-Add

• Reduce friction for contributors to start getting paid by funding them from a team directly.
• Increase contributors’ accountability by requiring check-ins, proof of work, and peer feedback.

How will funds be used?

Pay contributors to Krause House who support with ongoing projects. We currently have 11 contributors. We plan to increase that to ~15 in the coming months. Mainly those new contributors are supporting with revenue generating opportunities such as MyJerry, and the Ball Hogs loyalty programs (see below project details section).

How will funds be managed?

This team will not actually hold the funds directly. We will just accept payment requests in Utopia. Multisig can deny any request. Multisig should deny any request outside the scope of this proposal, or anything they deem as malicious.

Process

Dog and Brandan support contributors with regular check-ins, administrative support, and require Proof of Work and Peer Feedback to collect funding. The Proof of Work and Peer Feedback process is a process by which contributors submit a report that lists out the work done in the prior month as well as who in Krause House can confirm the work was done (the validators).

From there, Brandan and Dog submit a survey to the validators confirming the work was completed as well as some qualitative and quantitative questions regarding the contributor. Brandan and Dog then use that feedback to guide contributors in future months.

PoW and Feedback gets compared between people, and if someone is not delivering on a relative basis, they can get removed from the budget pool.

People who want to collect payment submit POW AND REFERENCES here every month. This is after already being vetted and recruited to this team.

We expect this funding will last at least 3 months (spending ~ $40K per month).

Intentions

We will be primarily funding contributors focused on:

• Creating potential revenue opportunities: these exist in the form of products or services—or anything with reasonable potential to be monetized.
• Building brand power and awareness: this primarily refers to social media content and media partnerships that spread the Krause House name.

Over the next several months we plan to focus on building out Krause House’s product portfolio and potentially could fork this team into a Product budget and a Brand budget.

People can get paid from this team indefinitely (at whatever the competitive market rate is for their role) as this allows us to provide some payment security and stability to full-time contributors.

How do we pick who to fund?

If we speak to someone, and we feel like they can further the KH brand or do something with the potential to generate capital, we give them a small amount of money for 30 days. After 30 days, we assess whether we should give them competitive compensation to aggressively pursue their objectives or not. It’s all subjective. People we have previously granted funding to:

Previous Work

This team was previously granted $75k USDC and $ 75k KRAUSE for May 1.

Up to this point, we have spent $36k USDC and 30k KRAUSE:

This was primarily deployed to people working on Krause House University, MyJerry, Esports, legal feeds, and Member Benefits.

This new funding will primarily be deployed to teams working on:

• MyJerry App
• Ball Hogs Loyalty App + Program
• Ball Hogs event planning and attendance

And we would like to onboard contributors to work on:

• Decentralized Investment Operations
• Media and Brand

With the increase to our reserves we should be able to fund these initiatives for at least 3 months (expected spend ~ $40K per month) without worrying about future proposals like this one.
