According to Shenzhen TechFlow, Michael Neuder, a researcher and proponent of Ethereum, put forward a new proposal on the upper limit of verifier balance at the recent consensus meeting of Ethereum core developers.
According to reports, he suggested increasing the maximum verifier balance for each verifier from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH.
Although the current 32 ETH validator limit promotes decentralization, it unintentionally leads to the expansion of the validator set size. Neuder said that raising the upper limit may slow down the expansion of the active verifier set and improve the efficiency of the network in achieving finality in a single Ethereum timeslot. This proposal will also introduce the possibility of rewarding automatic composite validators.
