The LanguageDAO Treasury is governed by the 9 community-elected Governors every three-month period. The initial choice for Governor term limit of three (3) months was determined by the the Harmony Protocol, as LanguageDAO was part of Harmony's 1DAO Alliance.

In recent times, the LanguageDAO community voiced to change the term limits of Governors to a longer period. The main reason being the resource and time required to arrange for the very-frequent Governor election every three months. As such, the community initiated this proposal and request all $PEOPLE token holders to vote and voice out.

The suggested term limit are three (3) months, four (4) months, and six (6) months. The results from this proposal, LIP1, will be applicable to the next Governor election and their term limit. It will not be grandfathered in for the current lineup of Governors. In other words, the current Governors' term will end 30th September 2022. An election will be initiated while this proposal, LIP1, is live.

This proposal has the following three (3) outcomes:

1. If we achieve voting quorum of 10M, the term limit choice with the most votes will be the new Governor term limit.

2. If we do not achieve the voting quorum of 10M, but a term limit choice had more than 50% of the votes, then that term limit choice will be the new Governor term limit.

3. If we do not achieve the voting quorum of 10M, and none of the term limit choices had the overall majority vote, then the Governor term limit is still set to three (3) months.
