July Allocation Request: 500k SQUID

Hello SQUID DAO,

Leviathan News submits this proposal for the July operating cycle. We are requesting 500k SQUID to fund the newsletter desk, the daily livestream programme, and miscellaneous production needs. In addition, we propose setting aside 100k SQUID of this request in a new multisig wallet to cover small, time-sensitive expenses that arise between DAO votes. All transfers from the multisig will be disclosed in the monthly operations update.

1 Summary of the ask

• Amount requested: 500k SQUID for July operations

3 Rationale

Leviathan News strengthens the SQUID ecosystem by delivering credible, real-time coverage of DeFi and Web3 governance. Funding these workstreams provides daily touchpoints with our audience, maintains strong incentives for expert guests, and ensures operational stability while we expand sponsorship revenue and lessen reliance on token emissions.

4 Multisig expense buffer (100k SQUID)

The multisig will improve responsiveness without reducing transparency. Typical uses include:

• Time-critical creative assets
• Contractor payments
• Other bills and service invoices

All transactions and the remaining balance will be reported each month.

5 Accountability

• Tracking: Distributions are recorded in the public allocation sheet.
• Reporting: A written summary of deliverables, audience metrics, and spend against budget will be posted on the SQUID governance forum within ten days after month-end.
• Adjustments: Any unused SQUID rolls forward to offset the next month’s request.

6 Consequences of non-approval

Without this allocation we would scale back publishing cadence, limiting reach and weakening the sponsor pipeline, which would affect near-term revenue and token demand.

7 Next steps

1. Open community discussion in the Newsletter and Telegram channel.
2. Hold a Snapshot vote authorizing the 500k SQUID allocation and the 100k SQUID multisig buffer.
3. Execute on-chain through the SQUID DAO treasury module.
