Disbanding the Grants Committee

This proposal suggests disbanding the current Grants Committee, with all advancement and strategic planning work to continue within the Operating Committee and among the broader membership. The distribution of grants will remain paused indefinitely as we refocus our resources and efforts.

Rationale: The decision to mothball the distribution of grants has already been made. To align with this strategy, it is proposed that the advancement and business development responsibilities of the Grants Committee be absorbed by the Operating Committee and engaged members of LexDAO. This consolidation aims to streamline operations, reduce administrative overhead, and ensure that all strategic work is cohesively managed.

Grants in work has continued piecemeal over the past two months, but conflict internal to Grants has spread to negatively impact the DAO. Grants as it exists no clear path forward.

Action Items:

Disband the Grants Committee effective immediately. Transfer all responsibilities related to strategic planning and advancement to the Operating Committee. Transfer funds from Grants multisig wallets to Operating Committee controlled DAO wallets. Maintain the current pause on grant distributions until further notice.
