Good morning Toads.
I wanted to put up a proposal for hosting an X spaces with SDL given that there are very strong negative feelings with some of the community. This proposal would be for me to co-host and lead the SDL discussion on 16Oct with the LToad account really being there in name/outreach only.
I know some people were hurt by Linkpool (myself included) financially with the LPL to SDL transition and earning back trust is hard. But let me give a few reasons why they've slowly brought me back around over the last year.
The SDL platform has onboarded the majority of the top 15 Chainlink Node Operators with CLL staking v.1
The staking on SDL isn't providing liquidity or some other high risk ponzi (looking at you Bancor), you're staking on CLL v.1 using available Node Operator space. There's no tricks or fake yield. Node Operators were given XXX,XXX Link allocation in v.1 and they couldn't fill it so it was opened to the community
Node Operators have had nothing but positive feedback about SDL (with the exception of SLURP 8 more on that in a second)
The SDL platform has worked flawlessly for the past year and we've enjoyed additional benefits CLL v.1 does not have including withdraws from staking, higher APY and better UX. You could just stake $link on the platform whenever there was space and you didn't even need to own $SDL.
SLURP 8 (SDL tokenomics 2.0) dramatically shifted things in favor of the community to the dismay of some node operators. SDL went from being basically worthless to generating a ton more link for holders. I earned more link in 4 days of tokenomics 2.0 than I did in a year of staking SDL previously. It's a huge boost. They're adding more benefits such as priority in the priority pool. All to benefit the community.
(PROCEDURAL NOTE: Because this proposal is largely for survey purposes, quorum will not be required.)
