Switch DAO Voting Mechanism from Gitcoin (Snapshot) to Discord Proposal

As many have come to realize, voting on Gitcoin has become very inefficient for the overall community. It is understandable that it is hard to get many people to vote because of the barriers/obstacles Gitcoin has put in place to verify that votes are real.

This is why I am proposing that we switch the current voting mechanism from Gitcoin to Discord.

Discord offers similar sets of wallet identification to Gitcoin Fortunately, our community is already token gated. This means that verification to participate in votes begins as soon as an individual enters the discord community. The verification process for owning an LTOAD and being able to works like the steps below:

Individual enters Ltoad discord. They can only see what is in the image below if they have not yet verified their wallet.

Individual clicks on the channel “ltoad-verify” to verify that he/she holds an ltoad in his/her wallet. Then clicks “verify your wallet”

Discord user now has the ability to vote because 1 to 10k Ltoads in wallet= 1 vote. It does not matter how many Ltoads you have, you can only vote once. Your discord layout should look like the image below after verification:

After voting is over (48 hours approximately from the time the vote has been put up), the voting mechanism will be locked and no individual will be able to manipulate the channel, unless done so by a moderator). 20 votes are needed to reach Quorum.

DAO rules listed in discord are subject to change according to this proposal. This concept is being proposed as a short term resolve for the Gitcoin obstacles that the community is having. Long term, another proposal can be brought to the DAO to return to Gitcoin when our community is more active and able to use Gitcoin.

All monetary-related proposals will continue to use Snapshot and GitCoin.
