SmartCon Drummer Proposal: Rise to the Top Postmint Campaign

GM and happy new year toads! As you may already know, the toads have partnered with Arden to help them promote the Rise to the Top elimination game at https://risetothetop.xyz/ If you haven’t seen this yet, the short version is it’s 1,000 lottery tickets that are personified as climbers up a mountain that slowly one by one get knocked off by Chainlink VRF until there’s just one standing. It’s a fun little game that costs 0.012 ETH per ticket and has the chance to payout 2 ETH to the winner, all the way down to .02 ETH to 100 people.

The whole idea here was for this to be an organic partnership between the Toads and Arden to show off Chainlink products with the first being VRF. We didn’t initially think an official Postmint campaign would be needed here because honestly, I thought the idea sold itself. However, at the time of writing we only have 32/1000 tickets sold… and I’m a large portion of those. There is a very real possibility that if we don’t sell enough tickets Arden will refund the tickets and move on. WE DO NOT WANT THIS. Arden has a whole suite of ideas to show off Chainlink products that they wanted to exclusively partner with the toads on.

Unfortunately, I can’t really detail them here but I think I can at least say one of them potentially would have generated ongoing revenue for the ToadDAO. It would be an awesome partnership and I do not want to lose this opportunity.

So, what I would like to propose is a LToad gated Postmint campaign funded by ToadDAO to educate on the Rise to the Top elimination game to help secure this partnership and future revenue through Arden. I think if we put up 250 LINK from the treasury we could get a lot of Toads posting again and maybe even get some new Toads to join. It’s a small price to pay now for what could be a huge payoff later for the DAO. Even if we don’t end up selling the full 1,000 tickets it would be a really nice gesture of faith to Arden that we did our best to make this work. Not to mention the 250 LINK would be going exclusively to the LToads, which would benefit our community regardless.
