Abstract

The Lunar DAO is in charge of the vision and direction of the Lunar Platform. The LIPP process appears to have originated from the Apecoin Governance model, which is incredibly limited in its ability to bring proposals up for a vote. This proposal removes language from the existing LIPP that slows the process down, and prepares us for an updated LIPP that has a more innovative governance process.

Motivation

In the world of startups and software development, speed of execution is key.

Rationale

Given the speed with which events like the FTX collapse are happening, we need to be able to respond more quickly to changing environments. We’re proposing to remove the specific day votes have to be posted, and keep the number of hours for voting that the original LIPP intended. Further changes will be proposed in a future vote.

• Update section 4.5.2 to read “Moderators shall post all LIPs in the Live LIP queue to the designated voting website as needed. Moderators may establish specific times of day to post LIPs for vote at their own discretion.”
• Update section 4.5.3 to read “Voting will be open for a period of 144 hours (6 days).”

Steps to Implement

• Accept the proposal
• Update the LIPP document and post it

Timeline

Upon acceptance, the LIPP changes would have immediate effect.
