Summary So far we’ve had some active contributors and community leads manage certain community operations (hosting community calls and AMAs, setting up platforms and tooling sites, addressing support tickets, etc), but most/all of this effort was self-assigned and/or instructed by the core team, rather than being initially approved by the DAO. This retroactive compensation is intended to de-conflate the larger conversation about compensating self-assigned or privately appointed contributors, breaking it down into a one time retroactive compensation on one hand, and a proposed ongoing compensation on the other. The latter will be addressed in a Team Proposal for the Community Operations Team.
BACKGROUND There has been productive debate around this notion of self-assigned or appointed contributors being compensated from the DAO treasury, being comprised of the funds of Lobby3 Members, whose collective decision was not formally involved in the aforementioned assignment of work.
MISSION & VALUES ALIGNMENT The intention here is to establish clear community oversight over the first team, being the Community Operations Team. This proposal in particular is clearing the way for such a Team Proposal, by addressing the work already done by active contributors and community leads.
SCOPE OF WORK The prior work to be retroactively compensated, for a total of 3 ETH, includes:
-Maintaining/restructuring the discord server -Managing Community Calls and AMAs -Troubleshooting support tickets in Discord -Setting up the Discourse forum -Setting up the Orbis.club group -Setting up and managing the Wonder base -Establishing the preliminary / “Season 0” governance system -Representing Lobby3 in public and privates meetings with numerous other organizations -Managing the Lobby3 Twitter account and attending numerous spaces with our partner organizations
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
3 ETH is to be earmarked and disbursed to the “interim” Community Ops Team, seeing as this team has not passed through the Team Proposal and as such has not been formalized. The interim team will decide amongst themselves how to split up the 3 ETH
