SUMMARY

Renee is requesting retroactive compensation to reward the work being done across several important fronts including fundraising, event planning, partnership formations, and building the lobbying collective. So far, the contributions of the Lobby3 core team have been largely self-guided, with compensation taking place in a retroactive fashion, requiring contributors to convey how they’ve contributed, and to effectively invoice the DAO accordingly.

BACKGROUND

Reneedaos has been a Lobby3 core team member since token launch, and brought Clinamenic into the core. She is well-regarded across the DAO space and has played critical roles in multiple DAOs.

During the early days of Lobby3, Renee was the primary community and tooling manager, and set up the legacy DAO with the tools and platforms it uses to this day. Since then, she has continued to play a leadership role in Lobby3, and hopes to focus her efforts on actual lobbying, by spearheading Lobby3’s lobbying collective.

Below is an itemized list of what I have done for Lobby3 this Winter:

Forged a partnership with the FriendsOfPooly community, who have gone on to recognize this partnership in the form of a generative NFT collection 1 with split proceeds for Lobby3. In the short time of announcing the campaign we have already raised 3.5 ETH 2 at time of this writing and the campaign will continue through June 2023. We expect to raise thousands of dollars with this platform on an ongoing basis. Has been actively recruiting team members for the lobbying collective, which would require such members to register as a lobbyist. Renee herself intends to register as a lobbyist and to lead this collective. She has also been recruiting corporate sponsors and partners who wish to support this enterprise, as well as forming other such strategic political and institutional connections which should benefit Lobby3’s formal lobbying efforts. Has been managing the Lobby3 Snapshot space, as well as our Discourse forum, in the interest of ensuring that our governance process runs smoothly. Helped coordinate the DeSci.Denver conference which occured alongside ETH Denver, and has been promoting Lobby3 within this important milieu. Has been providing valuable tooling advice for Clinamenic, as he helps to set up the tooling stack for the new Lobby3 DAO. Has been managing Lobby3’s Twitter account, whose responsibility includes the occasional attendance of DAO-related twitter spaces. Has been leading our ongoing fundraising efforts, especially in relation to Devox and the lobbying collective. She formed strategic alliances early with Gitcoin which helped lead to strong donor engagement and over $60k DAI in crowdsourced funds. MISSION & VALUES ALIGNMENT

While it is common practice in the DAO space for contributors to contribute on a volunteer basis, recognition and remuneration for such contributions is necessary if we want Lobby3 to mature in a healthy and substantial manner. In other words, it is in the interest of the lobby3 tokenholder community to hold contributors, on the core team or otherwise, to certain standards, and to compensate them accordingly. This has been the spirit of how Lobby3 has conducted retroactive compensations so far.

Renee is an OG Lobby3 tokenholder and core team member. She worked as a personal advisory to Humanity Forward on Web3 and DAO related matters and has helped the original launch team from the start. She is a BanklessDAO OG and the founder of talentDAO, a decentralized research community studying coordination at scale. More recently she’s found herself doing activism and lobbying.
