SUMMARY

Fund travel reimbursement scholarships for up to five Lobby3 token holding members to Washington, DC for Humanity Forward x Lobby3 conference. Includes flight, hotel, and daily stipend. Conference Date October 19.

BACKGROUND

Renee announced in the Discord 3 we are planning a small Lobby3 conference for October 19. Since attendance will require travel and lodging, I propose a travel scholarship to help people who couldn’t otherwise make it. This scholarship will increase participation, networking, and idea sharing among participants, and help include a more diverse group of Lobby3 members.

MISSION & VALUES ALIGNMENT

This proposal is consistent with Lobby3’s mission because it will equip our members to be a stronger voice in Washington, DC and is consistent with our values to decentralize economic opportunity, eliminate barriers to financial inclusion, combat poverty, and advance the human condition by including a broader cohort of members than would otherwise be able to attend due to financial limitations.

SCOPE OF WORK

Reimburse eligible and verified travel expenses using request.finance application.

SPECIFICATION

Lobby3 will reimburse using request.finance. Scholarship recipients will need to pay for their expenses upfront but will be reimbursed for eligible travel within three days of the conclusion of the event. Receipts or valid proof of purchase is required. Recipients are agreeing to attend conference in full. If they no-show to the event, reimbursement will not be authorized. Recipients are personally responsible for any hotel damages and resulting loss of security deposit. To be eligible, you must be a current Lobby3 token holder who would not otherwise be able to attend by your own means and complete the Google Form describing why the scholarship will help you attend, what your contribution level has been, and how attending the conference will help you contribute to web3 advocacy and Lobby3’s mission.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS

Fund travel reimbursements for round-trip flights, two nights hotel stay, and a $75 stipend for food/ground transportation for up to five Lobby3 members. Total estimated cost is $5,875. This allows for funding reimbursement up to $500 for flights, $600 for hotels, and $75 for stipend.

If we reimburse travel in a timely manner, and successfully send up to five members who actively contribute and participate to build their skills to be a web3 advocate this will be a success.

NEXT STEPS

Announce and recruit five scholarship recipients. Core team and contributors will set up Google Form, review the applications, and confirm eligible entries who will then be selected at random. Set up request.finance account. Collect expense receipts and confirm eligibility. Confirm attendance. Issue reimbursements.
