LIP73: Early Contributor Incentive Program

TL;DR

The LXDAO Early Contributor Incentive Program, retroactive to January 1, 2023, uses a dynamic system: more contribution, longer sustained involvement, and earlier participation yield greater incentives from the "Early Contributor Incentive Pool."

This plan assesses contributor activity semi-annually. Incentives vest linearly over three years. Inactivity leads to forfeiture: one inactive six-month period reclaims that period's unlocked share, while three consecutive inactive periods reclaim all remaining incentives. Re-engagement allows participation in new cycles, but reclaimed shares are not returned.

After two years, the community seeks to continuously reward long-term contributors fairly. This plan dynamically adjusts incentives based on activity, re-evaluating every six months. It aims for predictability (transparent rules), progression (dynamic allocation avoiding drastic fluctuations), and recoverability (incentive restoration upon re-engagement).

The core idea is to reclaim shares from long-term inactive members (verified semi-annually), returning them to the "Early Contributor Incentive Pool" for redistribution. Every six months, 20% of the pool incentivizes active, significant contributors.

Details

The "Contributor Feedback Pool" comprises 20% of total community incentives. Initial incentives for the earliest core contributors were distributed by late 2022 (V1). If approved, this plan will retroactively apply its mechanisms from January 1, 2023, for re-allocation.

Dynamic Adjustment Mechanism:

Part 1: Activity Metrics, Scores, and Calculation

  • Activity Settlement: Every six months.
  • Score: 0-100 points. Active: A ≥ 70; Inactive: A < 70.
  • Assessment Dimensions (3):
    • Community Contribution: Fairsharing work hours (e.g., 120 hours = 54 points).
    • Governance Participation: Snapshot proposals/votes (e.g., 100% vote participation or 1 viable proposal = 36 points).
    • Community Activity: Weekly meeting attendance (e.g., 20 meetings = 20 points).

Example:

  • Alice (Inactive): 40 FairSharing hours, 60% vote participation, 5 weekly meetings = 44.6 points.
  • Bob (Active): 120 Fairsharing hours, 1 viable proposal, 8 weekly meetings = 98 points.

Part 2: Early Contributor Incentive Acquisition and Vesting:

Incentive Acquisition:

  • Initial core contributor incentives were set by V1 (end of 2022).
  • Other members: Every six months, 20% from the "Early Contributor Incentive Pool" forms the current incentive, distributed to eligible members based on their contribution value.

Eligibility and Assessment:

  • Eligibility Criteria (semi-annually reviewed):
    • Current A ≥ 70.
    • Significant community contributions/skills (70%).
    • Ownership spirit (30%).
  • A "Committee" (incentive-holding members) assesses eligibility and shares based on "Special Contribution," "Excellent Skills," and "Ownership Spirit."
  • Eligible member lists are publicly announced for 7 days. Challenges with evidence are reviewed by the Committee, with final decisions communicated. The number of eligible members is variable.

Incentive Vesting:

  • All acquired incentives linearly vest over 3 years (6 semi-annual periods), with 1/6 unlocking every six months. Adjustments are activity-weighted (see Part 3).
  • Retroactive application from January 1, 2023, will reallocate incentives based on past activity.

Part 3: Activity Weighting and Incentive Share Adjustment Logic

Basic Process:

  • Semi-annual review: if activity score A < 70, the current unlocked 1/6 incentive share is reclaimed.
  • Three consecutive inactive semi-annual periods reclaim all remaining incentives.

Alice lost 0.6% (H3, H4) due to inactivity. In H5, remaining 0.6% was reclaimed due to sustained inactivity. 0.6% permanently vested. Total 1.2% reclaimed to the pool. Re-engagement (H6) doesn't restore reclaimed incentives but allows participation in new allocations.

  • 本计划将根据贡献者的活跃度对其获得的激励进行浮动分配,每半年重新分配一次,兼顾:
    • 可预测:规则透明、提前公示;
    • 渐进:固定周期里,根据活跃度动态分配激励份额,避免剧烈波动;
    • 可回升:贡献者重新活跃后可逐步恢复其激励份额。
  • 分配方案的基本思路为:
    • 回收:定期 reviwe 结算成员活跃度,适当回收长期(每半年验证)不活跃成员的激励份额;
    • 回收的激励份额将重新回流至「早期贡献者激励池」进行重新分配;
    • 激励:定期(即每半年)从「早期贡献者激励池」中拿出 20%,来激励该周期(即半年)内活跃且有重大贡献的社区成员;
    • 具体运行细节见后文。

则 Bob 期度活跃值为 54 + 36 + 8 = 98 分,为活跃

Part 2:早期贡献者激励的获取及解锁方式:

  • 激励获取:

    • 社区最早期核心贡献者的初始激励分配已于 2022 年底完成 V1 版本,以此版本为准
    • 其他成员:
      • 每半年将从「早期贡献者激励池」提取 20% 作为当期总激励
      • 符合资格的成员,将按总贡献值的占比瓜分当期激励
  • 具体筛选机制:

    • 激励资格:每半年对成员的活跃度和贡献值进行 review,筛选出符合条件的成员,并发放当期激励

      • 筛选条件为:
        • 当期 A ≥ 70(基本门槛)
        • 对社区做出重要贡献,或具备社区所需的优秀技能的成员(70%)
        • 符合 Ownership 精神的成员(30%)
    • 激励资格评定方式:

      • 由所有持有激励的成员组成「委员会」负责评定工作,将从「特殊贡献」、「优秀技能」和「Ownership 精神」三个方面进行审核考量。评定工作包括:
        • 筛选出符合激励资格的成员
        • 成员的具体份额比例
      • 符合激励资格的成员名单将进行 7 天的社区公示
        • 公示期内,社区成员可提出 challenge:
          • 提出 challenge 的成员需给出理由+证据
          • 「委员会」内部讨论(限时48小时),决定是否重新评估
          • 「委员会」统一给出最终答复(同意/驳回异议+理由说明),并更新最终名单。
        • 公示结束后,即确认当期获取激励的成员
    • 人数:当期获取激励的成员人数不固定,视具体情况而定。

  • 激励解锁方式:

    • 成员获得的所有激励都按 3 年归属期(即 6 个半年)进行线性解锁,每半年解锁 1/6,解锁情况会根据活跃度加权调整,具体参考 Part 3。
  • 回溯:若本方案通过,将从 2023 年1 月 1 日起,按本方案的机制对社区成员活跃和贡献进行回溯,并基于活跃度和贡献情况进行激励份额的重新分配。

Part 3:活跃度加权与激励份额调整逻辑

基本路径:

  • 每半年对所有成员的活跃度进行 review,如活跃值未达标(即 A < 70),则回收其当期解锁的激励份额(即 1/6)
  • 连续 3 个半年不活跃的成员,将回收其剩余的全部激励(包括当期激励)
