TL;DR

Donate3 provides the easiest way of collecting donations from different chains and tokens. Users only need to set up once to receive other tokens donations with the token they want.

Donate3 is also a donation standard protocol in Web3. Any organization、KOL、website owner can set a threshold for the donation amount. So that donors or fans who meet the requirements will get an SBT certificate and get a reputation.

In this MVP version, we will support Ethereum and ETH. More feature details are below.

Description

Based on our research, improvements can be made to the experience of donating using cryptocurrencies, such as

1. Usually, we display donor information on the official Dapp website, such as https://myfirstnft.info/. But, as the number of donors increases, we need to integrate and publish it in the front-end code frequently, which is rather time-consuming.
2. In scenarios like GitHub, personal blogs, social media, etc., many people use multiple wallet addresses directly to get donations from different chains. Still, it is inefficient for donors to make donations.
3. No differences between donations and normal transactions. Hard to analyze the total amount and donors.
4. Donation is not very attractive, but with the SBT certificate, display on the donor lists, and expectation of airdropping, donors might make donations.

Therefore, I propose to start a project at LXDAO to improve the cryptocurrency donation experience. More MVP details are below:

MVP Core Features

In short, users could connect to the wallet, create their project donation link on the platform, and integrate it with any compatible scenario. Then donors can make donations through Donate3.

Donor information (Based on the ENS profile) will appear on the Donate3 widget. Donation records can be accessed and listed.

Details feature:

• Login with wallet (Optional)
• Set the widget style and address:
  • Primary color
  • Floating button or embedded page
  • Set the wallet address of the donation receive address (default is the login address)
• Support Ethereum and ETH
• Show the simple donation data statistics
• Show the simple donor information, especially the avatar
• Add a short message along with the donation
• As a protocol, will try to submit to EIP

Milestones

After the proposal got approved:

• One week, complete MVP product design and UI design updates and assemble the team for it
• Three weeks, finish the majority of development works and demo show in the community
• One week, bugfixes and improvements
• Start promoting

Business model

For now, the business model is simple, handling fee. Later, might design tokenomics and provide advertisement features to increase the donations for creators.

Revenue distribution

LXDAO community owns 30% of Donate3.

Income (handling fee)

• 30% for LXDAO treasury
• 10% for early contributors
• 60% for project treasury for maintainers and contributors

Grants/Hackathon

• 20% for LXDAO treasury
• 80% for project treasury and contributors (create new proposals for fair sharing based on contribution)

Others (investments)

• Will draft a new proposal for it

Key result

• After the proposal's success, we will launch integration testing on the official website in one month.
