MIP #78 - Proposal to Sunset Campie

Abstract

This proposal recommends sunsetting Campie due to extended delays in Camelot’s voting gauge deployment. By ending operations, Magpie can refocus its efforts where alignment is stronger and execution paths are more clearly defined—ensuring resources are deployed where they can generate the most meaningful impact.

Motivation

Campie was designed to build a governance and yield layer on top of Camelot. But the lack of a functional gauge system has stalled progress and created uncertainty. Maintaining the allocation of resources and attention to Campie introduces opportunity cost and strategic drift.

Sunsetting Campie will enable Magpie to focus its attention and resources on SubDAOS that bring clear execution paths, measurable impact, and immediate strategic value.

As part of the sunset process, Campie will initiate the unlocking of all accumulated xGRAIL. Since the underlying xGRAIL contract is controlled by Camelot, the unlock will follow their protocol’s predefined schedule, which spans approximately six months. Once the unlock process is complete, all GRAIL will be distributed back to users based on their share. Users will be informed throughout the process to ensure clarity and transparency.
