Kiraly Payne - Artist Grant Proposal

Voting ended almost 4 years agoSucceeded

About the Artist Kiraly Payne is a rapper and music producer that has been based out of Chicago since 2012. As a natural part of doing what he does, Kiraly Payne provides an exciting and engaging atmosphere where the audience comes together to enjoy his work. The activities of Kiraly Payne represent a strategic opportunity for brands whose target audiences intersect MODA DAO.

Mission To stimulate the production, creation, and performance of the upcoming music album throughout the country and to ensure that his music is enjoyed by a wide audience. Project Goal To raise funds for the production and promotion of the upcoming music album.

Problem Statement There are few businesses that are as exciting or creative compared to others within the music industry, but at the same time, funding a music business tends to require much more capital than other lines of work—if you’re looking to open up your own recording studio, rehearsal space, or propel your music to the top of the charts, you’re going to need a surprising amount of music business funding to reach those goals.

There is something special about the completion of an album, with the culmination of hours, time, energy, heart, and hard work. Much of the success of a release comes from the music promotion that goes along with it. When it comes time to promote an album, you want to be ready with a plan to reach not only your true fans, but also find new listeners. There are some costs involved in launching and promoting an album, but the biggest investment is going to be the time it takes to market the music by doing outreach, especially for an independent artist looking to get noticed.

Project Description Through the acquired funds, Kiraly Payne will produce and promote his work, along with building links nationally and internationally. The most effective way to do this is to structure the album as a business and develop a basic term sheet that describes the investment.

Project Activities The project activities tailored towards the promotion of the album by Kiraly Payne are:

  • Setting up a pre-order is the first step in promoting the album.
  • Releasing singles to build continuous engagement with fans.
  • Creating an EPK for the album as an essential tool in pitching the album to press, radio, and reviewers.
  • Promoting the album on social media.
  • Creating a series of emails that promote the album and the use of a mailing list to send these out, throughout the albums promotion.
  • Promoting the album on radio.
  • Promoting the album to music bloggers and reviewers. Promoting the album to local media.
  • Creating new merch.
  • Organizing an album release show.
  • Booking a tour around the album.

Expected Benefits:

  • Donors supporting Kiraly Payne are afforded the opportunity to place signage at key areas throughout the venues that he will be performing at, including on vehicles and the stage. This provides high-value visibility.
  • We show our appreciation by mentioning donors during a stage performance. We may give your company a “shout-out” between songs or mention your products during a performance.
  • In addition to interacting with our audience during live shows, we employ a concerted digital marketing effort to build the brand online. This represents an opportunity for our partners and sponsors in the form of: Album Website: We will list albums on our website as an appreciated donor. Newsletters: We will highlight your products and services in our email newsletter. Video Content: We will appear in videos promoting your products or services at your request. Social Media: We will promote your brand, products, and services to our audience via social media.

Methodology

  • The internet and the website will be an excellent source for dissemination of information and album sales.
  • The album will be listed with information.
  • Music samples will be available as streaming media and downloads in a compressed format.
  • Touring dates will be posted on the site encouraging people to attend live shows.
  • The album will be sold over the website where sale info is captured under sale forecasts. The e-commerce module for the website will be outsourced and the costs are captured within direct costs of goods sold for online sales.

There is not an immediate need for offices, as all work can be transacted from the home office. Additionally, unlike many record labels, there will not be a recording studio to support and significant costs are saved by renting studio time as needed. There appears to be no time in the foreseeable future that would dictate the need for a dedicated studio. Sales will also be generated through online website album sales and margins for the online sales are quite good because it eliminates the retail layer of the distribution channel. This will be to capture revenue from the powerful internet sales channel.

Sustainability Plan Aside from soliciting funding for the album production and promotion, we will have at least a short business plan and a budget to present. This indicates our expenses, anticipated sales, project strategies, and a timeline. The reason for this is to create room for more investments, making it a sure way to sustain the business. Also, investing in a business has decent tax saving benefits for people that have a well managed income and are included in a high tax bracket.
