imUSD Deposit Box - where does the MTA come from and how much should be allocated?

Voting ended about 5 years agoSucceeded

Please only vote on this proposal if you voted YES to amending mStable's SAVE functionality as outlined in MIP-5.

In order to allocate MTA rewards to the new SAVE imUSD Deposit Box, these tokens will need to be sourced either from existing EARN pool emissions or added in as extra MTA emissions. mStable's genesis team have seen a clear and strong consensus from the community that they feel a reduction in MTA emissions is in the best interests of the project. There has also been clear consensus that existing EARN pools and their MTA allocations need to be revisited to ensure that they are incentivising long-term and highly aligned contributions or other benefits to mStable.

Given this information, the genesis team proposes the gradual winding down of the USDC 50/mUSD 50 EARN pool, re-allocating a portion of these MTA to the imUSD Deposit box. The specifics are outlined below:

  • Begin to wind down and re-allocate MTA from the USDC/mUSD pool, in equal portions over a 4 week period.
  • Allocate a portion of these MTA towards the Deposit Box over a 4 week period, increasing the weekly amount by 3000 MTA per week to a final weekly allocation of 12,000 MTA
  • Excess MTA will be removed from EARN emissions or used elsewhere subject to governance approval (such as an educational campaign on RabbitHole).

How do you think MTA should be allocated to the new imUSD Deposit Box?

  1. Allocate MTA in the manner outlined by the team in this proposal.
  2. Allocate MTA to the imUSD Deposit Box, but in some other way different to the team's suggestion. This will require more proposals in future to specify how it should be done.
  3. Do not allocate MTA to the imUSD Deposit Box
