imUSD Deposit Box - length of lockup and vesting schedule

Voting ended about 5 years agoSucceeded

Please only vote on this proposal if you voted YES to amending mStable's SAVE functionality as outlined in MIP-5.

In order to improve long-term alignment with the future of mStable's protocol, mStable's genesis team has proposed an imUSD deposit box where long-term Savers can store their imUSD and earn MTA.

This deposit box serves the following functions:

  • supporting the migration of funds
  • ensuring that recipients of system yield have a say in how it is distributed
  • ensuring long term alignment between mUSD savers and the mStable ecosystem

SAVE's APY will be boosted for MTA Stakers and lockups will apply.

mStable's genesis team proposes that 20% of MTA earned by Savers be available immediately, and that the other 80% be locked for a period of time.

The genesis team also proposes that the 80% of MTA earned be locked for a period of 6 months, at which point Savers can claim and withdraw them.

Arguments in favour of this lockup mechanism include better long term alignment, along with encouraging participation in staking and mStable's governance. There has also been a clear consensus amongst the community to emit fewer MTA. The lockup period would accomplish this temporarily, along with the measures proposed in other polls.

What percentage of MTA for Savers should be unlocked immediately, and how long do you think the lock up period should be?

  1. Assign the 20/80 split and 6 month lockup outlined by the genesis team in this proposal.
  2. Assign unlock/lock percentages and periods, but in some other way different to the core team's suggestion. This will require more proposals in future to specify how it should be done.
  3. Do not assign any lock up percentage or period.
