Systems change is not easy. It requires a radical shift in perception, followed by strong links to withstand the pressures of overwhelm and learned helplessness when facing large complex issues like climate change. This project would map corporate players and their connection to advocacy activists. The latter largely work in isolation. The result could illuminate the importance of a company that knows what it stands for, and strengthening meaning and purpose, and boosting personal spirit that weakens when disconnection is the feedback. Even as corporate decision-makers cancel internal initiatives that threaten the status quo, and lay-off staff, by illuminating the power of working together in networks that cut across organizations and advocates we might move the needle on applying meaning, purpose, creativity and non-linear thinking to generate solutions. This is active ONA, where the process is also the outcome. Follow-up could focus effort on specific initiatives that merge strengths and agency while sorting the walk from the talk.
