The purpose of this DAO proposal is to make Wynd our next incubated project.
What is Wynd? Wynd is the first decentralized residential proxy network that gives users ownership of the network and allows them to monetize their unused bandwidth. It offers up to $10/GB in non-inflationary earnings for every IP address connected to the network, while also ensuring user data is strictly protected from any third party.
The current IPv4 system has led to a shortage of individual addresses, and thus proxy companies are taking advantage of this situation by paying app developers to monetize people’s unused bandwidth without their explicit consent.
To date, no existing residential proxy solutions are fairly rewarding the people providing exit nodes (i.e. your devices), and none of the recent bandwidth sharing solutions are paying end users a fair share of revenue. If you’ve ever downloaded a free app on your laptop, phone, or smart TV and wondered how those apps make money, it’s likely that you’ve agreed to terms and conditions that give businesses the right to rent out your unused bandwidth.
Wynd Network plans to disrupt the industry by creating a new proxy network where everyone who owns a device connected to the internet can be paid directly for their unused bandwidth, potentially earning them up to $500/month/device in compensation.
How does Wynd work? In 2023, Wynd plans to launch an app which will allow users to immediately start earning for renting out their unused bandwidth. This will be paid out in WYND tokens, which accrue value via a burn-and-mint equilibrium mechanism, and double as governance tokens.
How will this look for New Order? Once this proposal and the subsequent snapshot is approved by the DAO, New Order will provide technical, fundraising, strategy, and marketing support to the Wynd team until its launch date. In exchange for these services, the New Order DAO treasury will receive a 5% allocation of convertible (pro-rata) equity in Wynd.
