We engage with Bart on a temporary part-time basis to further improve the NFTX Infrastructure and backend services.
Bart has been helping as an advisor over the past 12 months and helped @javery define and configure the existing backend infrastructure for NFTX.
This proposal is intended to hire Bart as Senior Devops Engineer on the Consumer Products squad for a predefined time frame of 3 months. His main role for the NFTX DAO will be refining the backend infrastructure and ops, and scaling the capabilities and robustness of the platform to compete as a fully decentralized marketplace and provision of developer tooling.
After the 3 months period ends, when there is a mutual interest to extend the position, a new proposal will have to pass through governance for extension of the position.
As NFTX has continued to lead the way with the financialisation of NFTs we are looking to increase the number of protocols to integrate with the services provided.
The scalability and performance of the supporting infrastructure is a vital part of continuing to deliver both the NFTX Marketplace and Yield apps and integration endpoints for the increasing number of NFT aggregators.
Over the past few months, Bart has been consulting and helping core team efforts, including patching Erigon during the Ethereum merge to keep the NFTX subgraph indexing; best practice configuration of NGINX servers; testing and reviewing the 0xMarketplaceZap vulnerability.
Bart is an experienced DevOps Engineer (currently Director of Engineering at a large-scale web2 company) with more than 20 years of experience, and previously was responsible for building infrastructure for an online gaming company serving millions of users across scalable infrastructure running in the millions of dollars.
Being a former colleague of Javery, there are personal guarantees that Bart will deliver above and beyond the initial work laid out.
