DAO Voting Portal Proposal

Hello Nudies! It's been far too long since our last DAO vote and so it's time to roll one out!

This vote is related to the Snapshot voting system that Nudie Community uses, the one you are using right now. Staking has been implemented within Nudie Community and all Nudies that are staked and earning $Cashnip are held in a specific staking wallet to allow your $Cashnip to accumulate. As a result, these staked Nudies will not show up within Snapshot if you connect your wallet to vote on any proposals. To be used with Snapshot, any staked Nudies would have to be unstaked, and they would be returned to your wallet to use for voting within Snapshot. We understand this could be inconvenient for some (especially if you own many staked Nudies), so the time was right for a proposal on the best way to solve this as a Commmunity.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE CLICKING THE OPTION TO CLAIM YOUR $CASHNIP TOKENS PRIOR TO UNSTAKING YOUR NUDIES. These coins cannot be recovered if Nudies are unstaked without claiming them first.

OPTION A:

Cost: $2500

Our developer who has built the staking portal and is working on our trait shop has planned out a custom-built voting system that will register any staked Nudies that you own in addition to your unstaked Nudies. This would allow you one vote per owned Nudie in any future DAO votes, the way that Snapshot has always worked. This proposal would NOT require you to unstake any Nudies before participating in a vote. The custom voting mechanism will be run through our own website, where you will connect your wallet (much like Snapshot) and be able to vote on our proposals. The build also includes simple admin tools for our team to create the votes and set voting timelines. We have looked into costing of this type of service and feel we are being offered a fair market rate for the build if this is the direction we choose to go. We have also arranged for a payment schedule that would pay 50% up front, and 50% when the voting portal is completed.

PRO: Voting on DAO proposals in the future will not require any staking/unstaking actions or trigger any gas fees, making the system much easier to use.

CON: We would be moving away from Snapshot entirely, which is a very secure and trusted voting system used by large communities (Decentraland, ENS, etc). Our system would use AWS (a web2 hosting company) and we would be subject to any security issues that affect that platform, if any.

OPTION B:

Cost: Free

Our alternative in this case would simply be to continue using Snapshot, requiring anyone who wishes to vote with their Nudie to have this Nudie unstaked at the time of the vote. In order to make this as seamless as possible for the Community, we can work with the Community to set up established and predictable periods of voting so that there are a minimal amount of staking/unstaking actions and $Cashnip can still be collected. While this would not cost the DAO any funds, gas fees would be triggered when staking or unstaking any Nudies.

PRO: We would continue to use Snapshot, which is a system we have high trust in and that has proven to work well for our Community.

CON: To participate in any vote, any staked Nudies you would like to vote with must be unstaked prior to voting, triggering gas fees in the staking/unstaking actions and potentially interrupting cashnip accumulations.
