• Project Summary Important: Think of this as the elevator pitch for your Proposal. The contents of this section will be emphasized within the overall summary for your Proposal on Sanpshot.org (DAO voting system) for OCM Tokenholder voting. A link to the remainder of your Proposal (this document) will be included beneath this summary for voters wishing to learn more. OCM DAO seeks to incentivize and recognize the efforts of creators, artists, devs, and builders in the OCM community. Forming the OCM Small Grants Committee provides another funding avenue (distinct from the OCM Prop House model) where the community votes for 4 representatives to serve as Committee members, and entrusts them to efficiently dispense a flexible pool of funding for the Season. This proposal requests an allocation of 20 ETH from the OCM DAO to fund the OCM Small Grants Committee for Season 1, a 3 month period starting now through October 2022.

• Project Description Why OCM DAO seeks to incentivize and recognize the efforts of creators, artists, devs, and builders in the OCM community. Forming the OCM Small Grants Committee provides another funding avenue (distinct from the OCM Prop House model) where the community votes for 4 representatives to serve as Committee members, and entrusts them to efficiently dispense a flexible pool of funding for the Season. What As a new funding avenue, OCM DAO will create a Small Grants Committee and fund it with 20 ETH for Season 1, to disburse to projects in the Committee’s discretion that benefit the OCM ecosystem and further the theme of Season 1, which is “Building OCM Brand and Community.” The grants are for projects from 0.1 - 5 ETH in scale, and a project can be funded multiple times at different stages, e.g., piloting a proof of concept, then building the product. The Committee will comprise five members to begin with, with 4 elected by the community, to serve for Season 1 (three months through October 2022). One representative from Metagood will also initially serve on the Committee to provide continuity and historical context.
  The scope would be funding projects from the DAO that benefit the OCM community and ecosystem. Out of scope are DAO governance issues and large funding requests. Voting for Committee Members OCM tokenholders can self-nominate, or nominate other tokenholders for the Small Grants Committee. Interested candidates will provide brief candidate statements in a Discord channel or thread set up for this purpose.
  The OCM community will conduct a tokenholder vote using OCM DAO’s Snapshot.org platform. The top 4 vote winners will serve on the Small Grants Committee for Season 1. How This proposal requests an allocation of 20 ETH from the DAO to fund OCM Small Grants Committee projects for Season 1, a 3 month period starting now through October 2022.
  The Small Grants Committee can make both: 1) current grants by reviewing proposals, and 2) retroactive grants, to recognize those OCM community members who have been building the OCM community and ecosystem from the start. The Small Grants process is different from the OCM Prop House process and serves different functions; Small Grants proposals may have a shorter deadline than the funding rounds in Prop House, request grant amounts so small they don’t warrant a proposal, or are for projects that are already completed. The decision making for funding is streamlined because members of the Small Grants Committee can approve any project or proposal for funding from 0.1 - 5 ETH with “yes” votes from any three members. However, Small Grants Committee members must recuse themselves from granting themselves or their immediate family members any funding, as well as abstain from voting on any project or proposal they are personally involved in. Small grants can fund for example: IRL events for community members to meet up in different geographic regions, fund fun projects like making stickers to give out at events, rewards for individuals who have already built useful community tools in the past, and piloting new ideas that engage the OCM community.

Disbursement The Small Grants Committee will review proposals on a rolling basis. They will direct OCM DAO to transfer funds from the OCM wallet to the approved recipients. Recipients of small grants are encouraged to report on status and progress to the OCM community in Discord.

Some tokenholders may not want to vote in multiple rounds of OCM Prop House voting, and can still participate in the DAO’s governance by electing representatives whom they trust to make good decisions on their behalf to give funding to projects.
