Replace static 2D image with a custom web page?

Proposal:

• Leave 2D images of crystals as is, or
• Replace images with a custom web page that allows scrolling through generations and AR / 3D icon links

Rationale:

This change will provide AR / 3D image integration directly to OpenSeas and the ability to swipe through your crystal generations directly from the OS image. While we believe this to be an awesome idea and functionality (to our knowledge, no other project has AR integration directly on OS), we wanted to put it to a vote to make sure that we aren’t implementing anything / changing the look of your images without your consent.

Leave 2D images of crystal as is:

Pros:

• Image will look the same across all marketplace platforms.

Cons:

• Your image is a 2D image and has less functionality

Replace images with a custom web page that allows scrolling through generations and AR / 3D icon links.

Pros:

• Can access AR / 3D features directly from your OS page with 1 click! Ability to easily see all generations of your crystal from your OS page

Cons:

• This functionality will only work on OpenSeas, all other marketplaces will show the 2D image as other marketplaces don’t support this type of functionality (at least not yet).

  • This video was taken from a mobile phone. If on a computer, when clicking the AR button a QR code will show, which can be scanned by a phone to take you to the AR app.
• The 2D image will still be in the metadata under the “image” key and the custom web page will be added to metadata under another key (such as “animation_url”) that will be selected by OS to be the display on your NFT page. (The below metadata is an example from another collection)
  • This is similar to what CyberKongz VX uses
• The final generation of your crystal will still be the first thing that appears, is the center of attention, and is still high resolution. Scrolling to the left will show previous generations (at high resolution). AR / 3D button will be added in the bottom corners of the image. Again, this functionality will only work on OpenSeas.

• Voting period 2/2/2022 12:00pm (GMT-5) - 2/4/2022 12:00am (GMT-5) (36 hours)
• AR button and final Generation image are implemented first
• Generation scrolling and 3D button will be implemented soon after (1-2 weeks)
