Proposal:
- Put 3D / AR models in the metadata of the OG:CR NFT (Public domain), or
- Access 3D / AR models only through OG:CR website (only owners can download, Private domain).
Rationale:
Any NFT-related tool or project (such as Oncyber galleries, Decentraland, Sandbox, etc) will be aware only of what is in the metadata of our collection. Anything that we declare private will be available only to the owners and they will be responsible for these assets - how to show, store, or do anything else with them.
Put 3D / AR assets in the metadata of the OG:CR NFT (Public domain)?
Pros:
Cons:
- Anyone can access the 3D/AR models (right-click savers), however, this is the same that can be done for your 2D images.
Access 3D / AR assets only through the OG:CR website (Private domain)?
Pros:
- Only NFT-owners can access 3D/AR models (exclusivity feeling).
Cons:
- More challenging to have the 3D / AR assets interact with NFT-related tools / Metaverse projects (e.g. Oncyber).
- New NFTs of just the 3D / AR files may need to be minted/airdropped so that the files exists in the metadata (separate NFT collection of 3D / AR files), or
- API workarounds will need to be developed (currently no workaround exists) so that Metaverse projects can interact with the servers that hosts these files.
- Other metaverse projects will likely need to accept these collaborative API workarounds as well.
Timeline:
- Voting period 1/26/2022 12:00am (GMT-5) - 1/31/2022 12:00am (GMT-5)
- AR assets are estimated to be completed 1-2 weeks after the voting period ends
- 3D assets will be available 1-2 weeks after AR assets to double check compatibility with 3D printing
Voting Info:
- Quorum: 10%
- Majority rules
- 1 Crystal = 1 vote
- Abstentions count towards quorum but do not affect public or private vote.
- If abstentions are the majority then a new vote will be taken with alternative proposals obtained from a community discussion.
