Session 1 Funding Proposal: omgkirby DAO Album Working Group

Situation

What are you proposing? The creation and funding of the omgkirby DAO album for Session 1 ending on 6/1/2022.

What is the core problem(s) you want to solve?

• Showcase - We want to showcase the music and creative potential of the omgkirby genesis collection stems, our greater community of creatives, and the power of web3.
• Community Engagement - We want to provide tools and infrastructure for community members to become more engaged through creating music, companion audio/visual content, and voting participation.
• Exposure - We want to build the omgkirby name in the web3 space by being the first “DAO-created album” and by leveraging the followings of larger artists participating in the project.
• Longevity - We want to establish the omgkirby platform as a place to collaborate, to discover and curate new music, and as a launchpad for new artists looking for exposure.

Why is this worth addressing today? This is important to address today because…

• It will showcase the current genesis collection of stems, and provide immediate value to holders.
• It will be the first DAO-created album, and drive innovation in the web3 & music space.
• It will provide the foundation for future stem drops, albums, and community-generated music.

How will you address it? This working group will address by doing/creating/running…

• Create a collection of 15-20 derivative tracks with various artists.
• Create companion audio/visual content around the album (Spotify canvas, music video, album art etc.).
• Use community voting to curate tracks and companion content down to a 10-song album with 2-3 focus singles.
• Build out a marketing framework for release.
• Use working groups to execute each step of the process.

What impact will this project have?

• Output - By 6/1/2022 we will have a 10 song album on all major streaming services.
• Exposure - By 6/1/2022 we will have executed a marketing plan to reach X global streams.
• Value - By focusing on the above output and exposure KPIs, we will generate value for current and future omgkirby holders.

Use of Funds:

• Community members should be compensated for their time and value.
• Larger artist features will require compensation. *any remaining funds not needed for artist features will be replaced back into the DAO or marketing budget via working group vote
• Impactful marketing efforts will require a baseline budget.

Organization - How will it work?

What will you be doing?

• Sprint 1 - Create
  • Form working group
  • Outbound reach out to 50+ potential artists
  • Create a system for each community participation
• Sprint 2 - Curate
  • Establish best practices for community engagement and voting
  • Curate 10-song album, name, etc.
  • Curate music video, canvas, and any additional promotional content
• Sprint 3 - Release
  • Finalize marketing plan and execute release plan

How will you interface with the community? Our progress during Session 1 in this Kanban board in Air table. I have each task set up as a Product Backlog Item (PBI), with an accurate description and outline of the acceptance criteria/deliverables.

As we make progress on each PBI, WG members will add ‘comments’ to the tickets to see who has made what progress. In addition, this way, the tickets themselves will remain unedited, so the community has total transparency as to the progress we’ve made.

By adhering to this schedule as much as we should be able to deliver the omgkirby DAO album.
