Summary This proposal is to build and deploy two yield-earning strategies in the Balancer ecosystem. 1) The wstETH/WETH Composable Stable Pool and 2) The wstETH/sfrxETH/rETh Composable Stable Pool. Then, boost the rewards by staking with Aura.
Background The Origin DeFi DAO has been looking for new yield opportunities for OETH to earn excess yield outside of holding LSTs or leveraging the Convex AMO. In September, the DAO voted to build and deploy a yield-earning strategy utilizing Balancer Meta Stable pools as an initial entry into the Balancer ecosystem.
Beyond deploying the pool strategies, we have begun staking the Balancer pool tokens with Aura in return for earning trading fees, boosted BAL rewards, and AURA incentives.
Now, there is the opportunity to increase OETH’s yield (and further diversify OETH’s yield sources) with two new compelling Balancer strategies:
wstETH/WETH Composable Stable Pool - Projected vAPR on Aura: 7.5%
The wstETH/sfrxETH/rETH Composable Stable Pool - Projected vAPR on Aura: 5.77%
As noted in the pool names, these pools are “composable.” A pool is composable when it allows swaps to and from its own LP token. Putting its LP token into other pools (or "nesting") allows Balancer to consolidate liquidity into some of the most common groupings, which results in deeper liquidity and better prices throughout the Balancer ecosystem.
Composable Stable Pools are a superset of all of Balancer’s previous Stable-type pools (Stable Pools, MetaStable Pools, etc.) and therefore deprecate all previous pools.
Given Origin’s confidence in the Balancer Ecosystem, the compelling APRs, and the improved pool mechanics, I propose that these two pools would be valuable additions to OETH’s supported strategies.
Overview: If approved, this proposal would signal the community's support for three next steps:
Note that the allocation of funds to the strategy would be gradual. At the discretion of the Strategists, the allocation will ramp up from 0 to full allocation over the course of two weeks.
Disclaimer:
🤞🏼 APY on any pool can change quickly and does so regularly. These pools are no different.
