Proposed Grant:

• 5 PAGE DAO membership NFTs
• 50,000 or 100,000 $PAGE tokens (We understand there is a precedent for 50k grants; however, that precedent was established when the token price was significantly higher, and, of course, the DAO is free to allocate however much it wants)

Background on Sitka World:

We are here to bring the magic of storytelling to Web3.

Besides amazing artwork, story, and community, our unique value propositions for creative writers and fantasy readers are:

• Immersive gamified long-term fantasy ecosystem w/ community royalties
• Guild of Scribes (paid Web3 writing gigs)
• Incubator for launching your own creative works

Our vision is to be the go-to hub for creative writers in Web3, fully embracing the magic within us while reshaping Web3 through the power of storytelling.

We will do this by bringing the Sitka Saga to life in immersive ways, and by supporting a community of creatives that can sustain themselves with their craft by helping other brands embrace storytelling and by creating works and worlds of their own.

Alignment with Page DAO

We are very on board with Page DAO’s vision of eliminating the middlemen in publishing (who control who and what can or can’t be published, and take the lion’s share of the financial value created). Our goal is to help writers succeed, both in terms of the craft of writing, and the logistics of publishing and building an audience.

Page DAO has created what is, to our knowledge, the only functioning Web3 native book minter that is open to all authors. There are others being built, but the simplicity and ease of use of Page DAO’s ReadMe minter is attractive, especially (in our opinion) for pieces such as short stories, magazines, and comics. We definitely will encourage our community of writers to consider Page DAO’s tools when planning their own publishing route.

Use of PAGE grant

• 5 Membership NFTs would be reserved to be given to Sitka World community members who win scholarship funds and wish to specifically publish through Page DAO (we will have our own scholarship program post-launch, where the community votes on deserving projects)
• 5,000 $PAGE set aside to be given in 100 $PAGE increments to any writer in our community that wants to join the DAO
• The remainder would simply be for general project seed funding. We are a self-funded project with a limited budget. Every bit helps in being able to get this off the ground.

We are always open to other ways to add value to each others’ communities, such as joint twitter spaces or writing workshops in Page DAO’s discord. Just let Beaver0 or Sitkarae know if you have any questions or ideas on how we can mutually support each other.
