Creation of departments with PAGE budgets

Voting ended over 2 years agoSucceeded

1. Introduction

As discussed in our meeting yesterday 8/1/2023, and in continuation of our strategic and organizing efforts, this proposal aims to establish five departments within PageDAO to facilitate the transparent allocation of resources and autonomous decision-making within our community. Each department will have a monthly budget of 10,000 PAGE tokens and the department leads will utilize the allocated tokens to achieve their department’s goals. This proposal outlines the team structure, responsibilities, and governance mechanisms to ensure smooth operations.

2. Department Structure

The DAO will comprise the following five departments, each focusing on specific aspects of the community's growth and development:

  • Governance - Dylan (with assistance from Inde)
  • Education/Information - Andy (with assistance from Dylan)
  • Communications - Rionna (with assistance from Andy + Dragonate)
  • Products - Inde (with assistance from Dylan and Philofaustin)
  • Publication - Cryptoversal (co-chaired by Rionna)

3. Monthly Budget Allocation

Each department will be allocated 10,000 PAGE tokens on a monthly basis to support their activities. The department lead will have full discretion to utilize these tokens as they see fit to achieve the objectives outlined for their respective department.

4. Responsibilities of Department Leads

The department leads will play a crucial role in driving the success of their departments. Their responsibilities include:

  • Formulating department-specific strategies and objectives aligned with the overall goals of the DAO.
  • Planning and executing projects to achieve departmental goals effectively.
  • Providing regular strategic updates to the DAO community to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Offering periodic task updates to keep stakeholders informed about the progress of ongoing projects.
  • Encouraging active participation and collaboration within their departments to foster a healthy working environment.
  • Ensuring that the allocated budget is utilized responsibly and in alignment with the DAO's vision.

5. Revocation of Department Lead Role

The DAO reserves the right to revoke a department lead's role if any of the following conditions are met:

  • Failure to fulfill the outlined responsibilities and objectives of the department effectively.
  • Misuse or misallocation of the department's budget, resulting in significant negative consequences.
  • Violation of the DAO's principles

The revocation process will be conducted in a transparent and democratic manner, with the involvement of DAO stakeholders.

6. Resignation of Department Leads

Department leads may choose to resign from their roles at any time if they believe they can no longer fulfill their duties. Such resignations should be communicated to the DAO community to ensure a smooth transition process.

7. Token Disbursements and Redistribution

Token disbursements to department leads will be facilitated through Dework, parcel.money, or other well-established platforms for managing decentralized payments. Additionally, any unused or excess tokens at the end of each month can be reallocated or redistributed to other departments or saved for future use as determined by the DAO community through a transparent voting process.

8. Getting Started

Upon ratification of this proposal by the DAO community through a majority vote, the establishment of the five departments and their respective leads will commence immediately.

9. Team Structure

The DAO will have the following team structure to ensure smooth governance:

  • DAO Community Members: All token holders who actively participate in DAO decision-making and voting processes and can participate in (and be rewarded for) departmental activities.
  • Department Leads: Responsible for leading and managing the five departments, as outlined in Section 2.
  • DAO Core Team: A group of representatives responsible for overseeing the overall functioning of the DAO and resolving disputes if they arise. Currently the core team is not elected, and future proposals from the Governance department will ratify the rules for selecting/electing core team members.

10. Finally

We are so excited to submit this proposal with an aim to foster collaboration, innovation, and transparency within our community by establishing these five specialized departments. With the monthly budget allocation and autonomous decision-making power granted to the department leads, we are confident that this approach will lead to significant progress and growth for the entire community.

We encourage all DAO members to actively participate in the voting process to ratify this proposal and empower our community's future.
