Adjusting $PION Emissions

Subject: Proposal to Adjust $PION Emission Rates

As of October 18, 2024, the bootstrapping phase for $PION emission ended, and It is now up to the Pion node operators to collectively decide the future rate of $PION generation.

Over the last year, approximately 45 million $PION tokens were minted, with over 41 million currently staked as bonPION. The Muon team reduced PION emission by 50% last April. Now it is on our community of 1100+ active node operators to determine whether or not PION emission should be reduced and if so, at what rate.

Many of our dedicated node operators have shared their views and insights for two weeks and time has come for them to vote. Based on these discussions, the following options have been curated for a community vote.
