Single choice vote: Choose Defi-Kun (@defikun) as the User Engagement Officer of Plutus

Overview

With the rest of the core team chosen in the proposal to continue we still have one position to close - User Engagement Officer (UEO).

The UEO will be managing the socials of Plutus, creating material, marketing, and in general building and engaging the community of Plutus. With experience in a similar position on Realm and having arranged events and overall interaction of community there as well as being an long term active member of Plutus' own community, we propose Defi-Kun (@defikun) to be chosen as the UEO of Plutus.

In addition to the UEO we will need moderation of the server. To cover timezones and provide a natural bridge from existing and past operations and experience towards building a new framework for community, we also propose for Sneddles to continue as the moderator of Plutus' Discord for the time being.

A new community driven moderation model will be implemented in the upcoming months, no later than EOY2024, where a role based crowd sourced model is developed in collaboration with past experience of Sneddles and the vision of the current team and general community. Until we have that in the flesh we need moderation to continue having a clean server to talk on.

Muting and banning practices, as well as past mutes and bans, are reviewed and new models put in place. Critique is welcome but it also needs to stay civil. Not much different to the core to what the reasoning has been but with close attention to setting new frames with more lenience.

Proposed UEO Introduction

My name is DeFi-Kun, and I am seeking the position of User Engagement Officer to represent PlutusDAO. I’ve been actively building on Arbitrum for over two years, working with Realm and the broader TreasureDAO ecosystem. At Realm, my job is to maintain clear and effective communication between the team and the community. I’m excited for the opportunity to bring my experience and dedication to PlutusDAO. Before I entered the world of crypto and Web3 in 2020, I worked mainly in traditional TradeFi utilizing fundamental analysis in a large team setting.

What will I bring to the PlutusDAO team? Clear communication and active engagement. PlutusDAO investors deserve a transparent line of communication with the operating team, and that is exactly what I will deliver. I will plan, organize, and carry out various events such as AMAs and threads to encourage community participation. Ensuring all voices are heard and providing clarity around the protocol and its decisions will be my priority. I will maintain and manage the various social platforms utilized by PlutusDAO to engage and grow our community. Additionally, I will work closely with partnership protocol socials to achieve maximum reach through collaborative marketing.

Pending a 'yes' vote, I will join PlutusDAO full-time ensuring it my top priority. - Defi-Kun

Compensation

User Engagement Officer As decided by the original vote, the UEO position has a 40h base salary of $6,500 with 20% paid out in $PLS. The hours appointed to the role range from 20-40h/week. Moderator We have a quote of $1,000 a month + 2k $PLS (tokens, not dollar value) for moderation. The core team finds this a reasonable compensation for the work that Sneddles has done and continues doing pending the passing of this proposal.

Conclusion

Considering Defi-Kun's experience and shown initiative we feel he would be a perfect match for the UEO position to be filled. With the server seeing a steady flow of scammers and general traffic, we see moderation as a complementing rather than overlapping service.

The experience and insight that Sneddles is able to bring to the transition is also a valuable add.

Finally considering the broad range of time zone coverage in activity observed both from Sneddles and Defi-Kun, this would give us close to around-the-clock -coverage from our directly community facing roles.

Choose Defi-Kun as the User Engagement Officer of Plutus and keep Sneddles as the moderator for the time being.
