Proposal for acquiring D2 ranger status for $25k

Overview

With an allocation to xD2 to achieve ranger status we can improve the returns of Plutus in the short and longer term especially after changes to the squad setup has been made.

Below are a list of reasons why we have gravitated toward proposing a further allocation compared to staying in the squad.

Strong track records

D2 successfully manages a significant portion of our ARB in their iARB+ vault, delivering historically strong APRs. This along with their other product performance showcases their capability to generate consistent, superior yields.

Gain a Stake in Their Protocol:

By becoming a Ranger, our deposits count toward the EDA airdrop, earning us a substantial stake in D2’s protocol through their token on Berachain.

Long-Term Yield Potential:

EDA tokens can be staked to earn yield, enabling us to maintain our stake in their protocol while generating value. If D2 continues to deliver superior yields on ARB, this success will translate into higher protocol value, which benefits us and aligns with bPLS holders’ interests.

Sustainable Value Return to bPLS Holders:

Instead of dumping EDA tokens, we can stake them, earn yield, and return this value to bPLS holders while preserving our position and alignment with D2’s long-term growth.

Cost-Efficient Entry:

Current market provides us an opportunity for efficient allocation for Ranger status.

This small allocation strengthens our partnership with D2, aligns us with their success, opening the door for sustainable, compounding returns tied to the Berachain ecosystem.

Conclusion

After further research and changes in the framework of the event we believe the relatively small allocation and large potential return we feel this allocation to become a ranger starting at the first season is going to be a good step up from participating as part of a squad without ranger status.

Proposal

Allocate $25k of productive treasury funds to buy 25,200 xD2 to qualify to be a ranger

Options:

• FOR: Allocate $25k to acquire Ranger status
• AGAINST: Do not allocate
• ABSTAIN: Count towards quorum without taking a stance

To protect the treasury and maintain a dynamic response to market conditions or contract security issues, the Plutus core team and multisig members reserve the rights to withdraw at their discretion any or all funds from contracts approved by Plutus DAO for productive treasury allocation. Any withdrawals or alterations made by the team and multisig members will be made with a preference for in-kind withdrawal, and will be announced and reported with reasons.
