PointsMarket Was Launched ~Oct 24, 2025 as a fun, lightweight reputation tracker (pointsmarket.io) in the Avalanche degen ecosystem.
Trusted distributors (@nobsfud + a small group of community figures) awarded “REP/points” for good vibes, content, and positive engagement.

Users could: Connect their X account to see balances of points, REP, transaction history, leaderboards, Vote 80/20 (positive/negative) on others

Track distributor budgets in real time

It was never a ponzi, money-making scheme, or utility token play - explicitly the opposite.
It ran for ~3 months and created real high-vibe energy in the AVAX scene.

Quick Timeline
Oct 2025: Launch → instant hype, hundreds of users, thousands of distribution of votes, and points.. Called a “banger.”

Nov 2025: Bugs + gaming (vote manipulation via X API) → temporary shutdowns.
Sparked “North Korea / Kim Jong Un / centralized cabal” memes (led by @WojakSatoshi and others who felt it was too insider-controlled).

Jan 15, 2026: X API policy change (Nikita Bier) banned “infofi” reward apps → official shutdown. Site now 404.

Feb–Apr 2026: Nostalgia posts continue. Multiple community members (including @0xSmitty) still “bullying” for a comeback.

Why It Failed
X API rules made the core X-integration illegal.
Early technical issues + drama added mental load.
No revenue model → pure community experiment with real costs.
