Price to Open Gen 1 Booster Packs

Today, on May 16th, 2022 at 3 PM UTC, the price to open a first generation booster pack was increased to 5 $PMON. The Polychain Monsters Collector DAO gets the final say on whether the price to open a first generation booster pack should remain at the new price of 5 $PMON or if it should be reverted back to the original price of 1 $PMON.

The new price of 5 $PMON will remain, at a minimum, until May 27th, 2022. The DAO will have until May 26th to submit votes on whether to keep the new 5 $PMON price. Should the DAO vote to revert the price of a booster pack back to the original price of 1 $PMON, then the price per booster will be changed back to 1 $PMON on May 27th, 2022.

Background Information

The price to open a first generation booster pack has been 1 $PMON since March 31st, 2021. Since then over 2.2M booster packs have been opened. The team implemented the price change for two primary reasons:

The first generation of booster packs will be discontinued in June 2022 as we are preparing to launch the 2nd generation of booster packs (brand new Polymon replacing all the first generation Polymon) The overall market conditions in the past week have resulted in first generation NFTs being at risk of inflation at prices lower than ever.

The team chose to implement a price increase in order to protect the value of the NFTs being held by our community members and to account for the overall cryptocurrency market conditions. Through a price increase, we are able to ensure that the final days of first generation boosters are not inflating our first generation NFT supplies at prices that are lower than ever.

Voting

Voting will be single choice, meaning that each voter may only choose his or her single favorite option. The majority choice preference will be declared the winner. This means that the vote with the absolute majority of vote points wins. Vote points for each voter consist of their amount of $PMON tokens, Polymon, and Collect to Earn score.

Voting Options

We offer the following two options in this round of single choice voting:

• Keep the booster pack price at 5 $PMON

• Revert the booster pack price back to 1 $PMON
