As we partnered with multiple projects in 2021, many special-edition Polymon have been released in booster packs. While some only remained in packs for a week or month, others have stayed as permanent drops, leading to the current situation where the chance of finding a special edition in booster packs is bigger than ever.
Doesn't feel so special anymore, right? At least that's what many of you expressed in Telegram and Discord over the last few weeks. So let's decide about this collectively with two proposals.
What has to be voted on?
- The maximum amount of a future special-edition type (this proposal)
- Whether or not to remove all currently available specials from booster packs
The maximum amount of a future special-edition type
With this proposal, we would like you to vote on the maximum amount of a future special-edition type in booster packs (and giveaways).
We will use this decision as a guideline for adding new special Polymon to booster packs in the future.
Note: There could still be exceptions in some cases if partnership projects would like to give away more (or less) whitelist or IDO allocation spots.
Once all exemplars have been discovered (and given away through special events), the special will automatically be removed from booster packs forever.
If there are multiple special editions in booster packs simultaneously, they will share the 0.01% chance of being discovered.
Example: With two active specials in the booster packs, the chance of discovering a special edition in booster packs would still only be 0.01%, but both specials would share this drop rate (so 0.005% each). In Collector Staking, however, all specials will be treated with a type rarity of 0.01% to avoid disadvantages based on the number of specials currently available.
Based on several discussions with community members, we're proposing the following options to vote on:
-
Max. 60 exemplars of a future special-edition type
-
Max. 50 exemplars of a future special-edition type
-
Max. 40 exemplars of a future special-edition type
