ProtoDAO: ProtoFi Improvement Proposal 01 - Multisig Wallet

Voting ended almost 4 years agoSucceeded

Dear ProtoFi community, welcome to our very first governance vote!

We would like to introduce you to a more secure and transparent way of how we want to handle all future transactions from our current Protocol Treasury ( including the current Dev wallet)! We aim to re-allocate the current Treasury to a Multi-Signature ( or short Multisig ) wallet, whose address will be published shortly after the end of the voting and made publicly available in our docs. The docs are located here : https://protofi.gitbook.io/protofi-docs

What will change from the current setup?

Each member of the Core Team will get an unique key. There will be a threshold on the wallet, which will only allow transactions if 2 of 3 keys approve the transaction. Later on, this could even be extended to community known members, which are not related with the Core Team or even a person with a trusted position within the industry.

Why should the community approve this change?

With the switch to a Multisig wallet, the security will significantly be enhanced against 3rd party hacks and improve our overall condition. No member of the Core team will be able to move funds without the other members' awareness and at the same time it will preserve the flexibility of moving funds even if all the team is not available to do so at the same moment. In other words, more security for your and our hard earned Protocol Treasury funds!
