Farconnect at Devconnect Sponsorship

Note from submitter (billzh.eth): I'm submitting this proposal on behalf of Emre who is a Purple member and the organizer of FarConnect.

TLDR Farconnect is an offchain social gathering connecting devs, casters and anyone outside of Farcaster to meet and form new relationships irl.

Description Devconnect is a week-long gathering of independent Ethereum events. The time and location are signaled by the Ethereum Foundation and communities independently organize events throughout the week(s). The event is held at Kolektif House Levent from 7pm-12am (GMT+3).

Farconnect @ Devconnect is a social gathering to connect with devs and casters offchain. Farconnect welcomes everyone to join and vibe. Farconnect, inspired by FarCon (which was sponsored by BuilderDAO for 4 ETH in Prop 51) , is an unconference, where BuilderDAO member billzh.eth will be giving a talk about the interplay between DAOs and web3 social, with BuilderDAO as a prominent example.

Budget We’re proposing BuilderDAO cover 0.8 ETH of a total 5.2 ETH budget for this event. The remaining 4.4 ETH are being co-sponsored by Purple (2 ETH) and other sponsors listed on https://farconnect.xyz/.

We’ve calculated the costs as follows: $2785.00 (79.200 TL) to reserve the venue for 150 people including the renting of the sound and visual systems (incl. mandatory technician) $3240.00 (90.000 TL) for unlimited (alcoholic) beverages. $4922.00 (140.400 TL) for finger food.

Total: $10.851 including 20% VAT ≈ $72 per headcount (value might fluctuate depending on TL/USD rate)

Northstar Check Builder DAO is dedicated to the creation and development of free and accessible DAO infrastructure as a public good.

Sponsoring a conference for Farcaster - also building as a public good - allows us an opportunity to get in front of some of the best builders in web3. Nouns is one of the most used channels on Farcaster and BuilderDAO plays a crucial role in enabling new DAO formations. The synergies of Farcaster and the Nounish DAO creation from BuilderDAO have been positive sum and this event will help spread awareness of BuilderDAO.

Farconnect is also a potential source of revenue generation for BuilderDAO. Putting BuilderDAO in front of the right audience would help drive up auction demand, as we have seen after our sponsorship of FarCon

Treasury Impact The funding request of 0.8 eth will have minimal impact on the treasury. There is no admin budget for this event and all funds will be used towards event expenses.

matthew and antimofm.eth from Farcaster have agreed to approve/deny reimbursements.
