RIP #1 - Transitioning to rToken-Based Reward Distribution for Enhanced Efficiency

Voting ended about 2 years agoSucceeded

Transitioning to rToken-Based Reward Distribution for Enhanced Efficiency.

Abstract:

This proposal seeks to transition the distribution of rewards within Radpie from native tokens (such as WBTC, USDT, USDC) to rTokens (e.g., rWBTC, rUSDT, rUSDC). The primary objective is to align Radpie's operations with Radiant's practices, enhancing efficiency, particularly by reducing gas fees associated with the current distribution process. Adopting rTokens for reward distribution will leverage their inherent benefits, including interest accumulation directly to holders' balances, thus fostering a more economically sustainable ecosystem for all stakeholders.

Motivation:

The current method of distributing rewards in native tokens has proven to be gas-intensive, leading to unnecessary expenditure and reducing the overall efficiency of Radpie. By transitioning to rTokens for reward distribution, we aim to achieve the following objectives:

Cost Efficiency: Significantly reduce the gas fees incurred during the distribution of rewards. Alignment with Radiant: Adopt a consistent approach with Radiant's operations, leveraging the established infrastructure and practices for rTokens. Enhanced Value for Stakeholders: rTokens offer a unique value proposition by accumulating interest directly in holders' wallets, increasing the rewards' overall value over time without requiring active management.

This proposal is aligned with Radpie's strategic objectives to optimize operational efficiency, maximize stakeholder value.

Specification:

Transition Radpie's reward distribution from native tokens to rTokens (such as rWBTC, rUSDT, rUSDC), aligning with Radiant’s distribution model to optimize efficiency and reduce transaction costs.
