Context

This proposal allows the DAO to airdrop RAW Collection Artist Passes to the artists whose work we are collecting.

The RAW Collection Artist Pass is an opportunity to onboard artists in our collection into the DAO by providing them the option to participate in the Community Curation and gain access to our internal discord without the tokenomics implications of giving out $RAW tokens. As opposed to traditional workplaces with fixed positions, DAOs enable potential members to create their own role based on their interests.

The passes will grant artists the access to RAW’s Discord channels under Member Areas (#governance, #curation, #marketing-pr, #community, #finance) and Private Discussions (#members-lounge, #flames, #share-your-work). This allows artists a chance to get involved in the community and learn about the DAO before purchasing $RAW tokens if they want to contribute further. The artist passes can later be expanded to grant other benefits and privileges.

The passes will not grant token-gated access to the DAO. Pass holders would not be granted the ability to participate in DAO governance which includes submitting proposals, voting on Snapshot, and accessing the Clarity workspace.

The passes would be minted with the artist’s name to reduce the risk of unwanted secondary sales or transfers, without requiring a more complex solution like a custom smart contract to disable the passes or locking mechanisms that still allow wallet-to-wallet transfer.

Proposal

Discord:

• To create a “Collected Artist” role to identify pass holders
• To create an #artist-collection channel to directly engage with pass holders

NFT pass:

• To design the first "RAW Collection Artist Pass" NFT
• To be able to change the design of the pass at any moment using a soft vote. A minimum of 20 positive votes and a maximum of 10 negative votes over a 48-hours period is required to change the NFT’s design. For clarity, if a design gets 10 or more negative votes, regardless of the number of positive votes, the proposed design shall not be used.
• To use the artist’s name in the NFT 'name', using the format “Artist Name - RAW Collection Artist Pass”

Process:

• To collect the wallet address of every artist whose work we have collected up to this point
• To mint the passes and transfer them to the artists
• To repeat the process for every new artist under RAW’s collection. An artist shall only receive one pass.

Disposition:

• If the DAO sells off the photographer's artworks, the artist keeps their pass, and is welcome to stay in the community.
• In the unlikely situation where the community wishes to no longer be associated with an artist holding a pass, we shall ask the artist to burn the NFT and remove them from the Discord.

Costs

• Pass design: currently being created by @samcronenberg free of charge
• Gas fee for minting and sending the NFTs (Preview)
