RIP-6: ResearchHub’s Hackathon - Scientific Reputation Event + Budget Approval

Voting ended over 3 years agoSucceeded

SUMMARY: “ResearchHub’s Hackathon - Scientific Reputation” marks the first online Hackathon organized by the ResearchHub Community. This proposal will seek to outline the intention and logistics of the event as well as request a budget for operating expenses and event awards. “ResearchHub’s Hackathon - Scientific Reputation” is currently slated for December 2, 2022 through December 11, 2022.

MOTIVATION: The intention of “ResearchHub’s Hackathon - Scientific Reputation” is to help gather together interested parties and fellow colleagues in the scientific community to establish a robust reputation system. In addition to generating a prolific reputation system, it will bring awareness to the ResearchHub platform and its value proposition.

PROPOSAL: We seek community approval for allocating time and resources to setting up ResearchHub’s first online hackathon. We also propose to use up to 1M RSC from the community treasury and up to $3000 in USDC/DAI from the ResearchHub Community GR15 Gitcoin Funding Round (contingent on successful distribution of these funds in mid-October 2022.

ACTION: The Community/Working Group Leads and head community members will spearhead and coordinate members of the community to organize the event. Payments will be done by heavily leaning on the use of bounties on Dework (paid in RSC as outlined above) to payout members for the work completed. Any excess RSC earmarked for this event will remain in the treasury for it’s intended use (i.e. general marketing or bounties) through the end of Q4 2022 whereby these extra RSC will then be held as “excess reserves.”
