RIP-14.1: Gitcoin Grants Peer Review Fund Deployment in Perpetuity

SUMMARY: ResearchHub Foundation was lucky to be part of the Gitcoin Grants GG18 Round. As part of this endeavor we'll be receiving a total of $785.32 (Donation: $175.26, Matching: $610.06) in donations and matching funds, for which we propose to establish “Peer Review Bounties” around specifically pre-print publications (including but not limited to biorxiv, arxiv etc). We also propose to be able to convert this and all future grants/donations intended for incentivized peer review into $RSC to be moved to the ResearchHub platform for peer review bounties.

MOTIVATION: Peer review bounties on pre-prints are specifically designed to incentivize the generation of quick turnaround, high quality peer reviews on pre-prints. We believe providing high rigor scientific feedback and review on pre-prints will help accelerate the pace of scientific research.

PROPOSAL: Provide $150 bounties across approximately 5 different pre-prints to incentivize the generation of quick turnaround, high quality peer reviews on pre-prints.

ACTION: The “ResearchHub Foundation Community Treasury” will convert the entire ETH/DAI funds from Gitcoin GG18, and any future gitcoin donations, into $RSC and subsequently deposit these funds onto the ResearchHub Platform in order to be able to create the Peer Review Bounties.
